How to Pray a Million Ways

Writer: Phillipa WilliamsPhillipa Williams

The Bible tells us God will never leave us nor forsake us, but does your soul feel it?

Knowing Heaven always has your back can birth a peace and a confidence that is hard to articulate. It feels better than a hug from the most loving parent and more powerful than encouragement from the most committed spouse; it's more tender than the pure love of an innocent child.

God is ready to give our souls something we can feel. So, what's in the way?

We are.

You probably have heard it before, but to experience the abundance of His love in your life you must give yourself to God in prayer. There's no getting around it.

I'm talking about AUTHENTIC, TRANSFORMING, TRANSPARENT PRAYER,

not synchronized speaking.

How long will He have to keep waiting for you to remove the smoke screen and engage in real talk? Real talk with God happens when we still respect who He is, but impose no limits on what we'll share.

Picture having someone in your space who is always accessible...

whose shoulder is always available to cry on...

whose ears are always open to hear your ideas...

who will comfort and calm your fears....

and count every tear.

By taking the limits off how and when and why we chose to encounter God, we create an immeasurable stream of access between ourselves and the Divine.

We CHOOSE to engage Christ on our knees and at the car wash.

At the alter and in the check-out line.

Reading scripture and scrolling Facebook.

On our grind working or relaxed and reading a blog.

Discovering a million ways to pray is doable when we shift our mindset from living and praying to living a prayer-filled life.

Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. ~1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 (Amplified Bible)

When you co-exist with Christ, no one has to tell you He's real. Your soul feels His presence and the barriers to His love fall away.

NOW THAT'S PRAYING!!!!!

God is a God You Can Live With. Prayer is the invite. Never put an expiration on the invite and you won't have to find a million ways to pray. They will find you.
