Witness to a War

The world is running rampant, wading its way through wide-spread decimation with a global impact. We've stopped living to chase our healing. But did you think I was talking about COVID-19? No. This is more than a health crisis. "Pandemic" is a perfect description of our viral culture.

It is the culmination of our civil, physical and spiritual unrest.

Just as the virus duplicates and attacks the body, hate is duplicating and attacking the soul of humanity.

We struggle to breath.

And in the midst of it all, In this pandemic culture, God has called us to be a witness.

Not to see the darkness and shake our heads. Not to chronicle our brother or sister's pain and be relieved that it's not us. As children of the Sovereign God, we are called to be a witness to death AND to life. To the Cross and to the Tomb. To the Blood and to the Glory.

We have to love hard enough and be brave enough to have our souls weep but still leap. To feel the eight minutes of oppression on our necks and still fight to live. To give an account of the battles for bodies playing out before our children while planting seeds of hope in their hearts through accountability.

In other words, Jesus is calling us out.

Our voice is Heaven's vessel. Our purpose is it's anecdote for the world's pain.

Feel stripes on your back?

Be the balm of Gilead.

Suffering with Him?

Reign with Him.

A crown of thorns for the crown of life.

Even if you are a lone voice in the wilderness, be that voice calling for unity and divinity in the midst of insanity.

This is not the time to be quiet.

This is the battle of eternity. Flesh versus Spirit. The most difficult walk for any Christian is the path to purpose when you know your very life is at stake. The weight of my Cross drops me to my knees in submission but it also compels me to get back up and keep moving. I, we, are all are destined for this journey and for such a time as this.

Our walk,

our struggle,

our tears,

our burden,

His greatness,

His authority,

His power,

His glory,

will be revealed through us.

It's time to get into formation. Let's start by praying together for our pandemic culture:

We have witnessed death in our homes. Death in the hospitals. Death in the streets. Death at the Cross. Now, oh, God, let us be your witness for LIFE.

We bow to the Cross and rise to the occasion, lifting You up so that all men, women, children,

predators of peace,

enemies of unity,

detractors of your divine will

may be drawn unto you.

We see you, oh wretched world,

now hear us,

for we are witnesses to Glory.

Justice rolls on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.

We stand on Golgotha's hill in the presence of a bloodbath.

We stand at an empty tomb in the presence of a Resurrection.

"Rabboni!","Teacher!", JESUS.

We call now on the One who has called us out.

Teach us, Lord, to be your witness.

It is our place in forever.

Amen.

A few days ago, I stood face-to-face with the spiritual consequences of our pandemic culture. Someone with a toxic mindset but too afraid to look me in the eye was blocking me from what was mine. I didn't ask for this fight, didn't anticipate it. But there it was. I had a choice. Do I respond out of my feelings to what is provoking me or do I summon the authority? I summoned the authority, and I held them accountable for their authority. The manager gave me what was mine and dealt with my enemy, but only because I called the circumstances out for what they were.

Warfare.

We fight different.

It's time to call on the Authority of Heaven and call this viral culture out for what it is.

That means speaking truth to power through your vote.

Lending your voice to organizations and structures that promote healing and unity.

Representing God in the earth through your gifts.

Setting a standard that generations can follow.

Be. a. witness.

The question is not "if" but "when" will you come face-to-face with the adversary.

Never let ignorance diminish your love for humanity.

We are empowered by the spirit of the Living God, and we will see the salvation of the Lord.

Take Care. Be safe. Look like LOVE.
