What a Woman Cannot Do

THIS MONTH'S THEME: R.E.A.L. MEN

Have you ever heard this one?

"You cannot learn about success in marriage from a divorced person." ~Anonymous

Maybe it is age or experience, but now I choose to learn. It would have been easy (and it was for a season) to see the demise of my marriages as complete failure, but I have learned if you have a desire to be a better person ultimately you will embrace a win or learn perspective.

Two divorces look like big losses but oh, what I learned...

As with women, there is so much more to men than meets the eye. So much more that sometimes only God is allowed to see. Strength through kindness. Love until it hurts. An overwhelming desire to leave legacy. But the one thing we rarely hear about is their ability to restore.

As my son was growing up, I was adamant with both his dad and his bonus dad that they pour into him regardless of our relationship. I would tell myself, "Moms keep you grounded. Dads teach you how to fly." Today, I can see the fruit of their labor in his life.

We women know how to cultivate and nurture the soil, but men by nature and by spirit men are seed planters. The world writes jokes about how men don't talk a lot, but I learned they don't always have to. Sometimes, just a seed is enough.

This is why godly male role models in the lives of our children are so important, why girls need the tenderness of a father's words and boys need the wisdom of a father's experience.

When men sow good seed, we all reap the restorative harvest. The question that must be asked is, "Has his seed been cultivated?".

To my brothers in Christ;

Women create environments, not seeds. A woman cannot cultivate the seed of peace living inside of you. Only God can do that. Take responsibility for the gift that you are and allow Christ to nurture and heal your seed, your core, your innermost being.

We need you healthy.

We need you whole.

We need you restored so that God can use you to restore.

We need you.

"For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.: ~Zechariah 8:12, King James Version

Brothas, we love you but God loves you more.

I hope you were blessed and inspired by today's message. If so, feel free to share this with the men in your life! Let's keep this thing going! Next week, we dig in on how God equips his men. Until then, as always, much love!
