We're Going All the Way!
Predestination to glorification, all things are working for your good.
From before your mother's womb to the graveyard and the tomb... all things.
Your grief and the glory.
Your pain turned purpose.
Your history birthing destiny.
All things.
The divorce. The damage. The divine.
The wounds. The work. The wonderful.
You may not see it right now amidst the struggle, but God has you on a path to somewhere.
The Path to Somewhere
Your path doesn't have to be perfect to be fruitful.
It is your commitment to walk it out that makes the difference.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,...
~From the poem, "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost
Robert Frost originally wrote this poem as a joke about a friend who was always indecisive concerning the paths they walked.
And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;*
Little did he know that his friend (and the rest of the world it seems) would not see the joke, but rather hear the clarion call to be decisive and committed.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.*
Living a life of indecision is counterproductive to what God has for you. Until you see the victory, make the decision to claim the victory knowing the Master Planner has a purpose for the paths we take.
This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him! That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens. ~Romans 8:15-21, The Message Translation
Choose to Go All the Way
Only in retrospect do we start to grasp how some struggle or sacrifice works for our good.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.**
When you decide to walk the Way with Jesus, you are walking a road less traveled. But for every negative thought, interaction, or experience a child of God has on the journey, Heaven has a positive response, recourse, or restoration.
So how are you limited?
Predestination to glorification. Keeping Christ close positions your purpose, pain, peace, passion, and promise to work together for your good. Right now, commit to a deeper, more meaningful, more intentional walk with God. Embrace the adventure reserved only for those kept by Jesus, and He will take you all the way.
