Heaven Has Space for You

I absolutely love the book of Luke. He's a writer's writer. Yes... Luke is one of the longest of the Gospels... but it's so worth it.

It's the depth of the stories that makes it so special. There's an infusion of hope starting from the very first chapter. As the only Gentile writer in the Bible, he doesn't seize the opportunity to elevate one sect against the other, doesn't try to stand out nor does he hide in the shadows. Instead, he invites into the Savior's storyline every man and every woman. Old or young, Jew or Gentile, characters of all kinds have a voice, a contribution, a common ground in his writings when it comes to Christ.

Refreshing, isn't it?

No ceiling, No Limits, No Box

Finding common ground with man and the Son of Man.

Two of my favorite characters in Luke are Simeon and Anna. Simeon - a man guided by the Holy Spirit - was compelled to prophesy how the infant resting in his arms would be a savior for all people:

“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2:29-32 New International Version

This kind, devout, patience man was the first to prophesy over baby Jesus, but scripture gives no indication that he lived as a prophet prior. Then you have Anna...

Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. ~Luke 2:38 NIV

Anna the Prophetess didn't prophesy, she praised!

Just Go with the Flow

So, we have a non-prophet prophesying and a prophetess overflowing with praise. When God is in the midst, there is no ceiling, no limits, no box that can hold how he chooses to use you. Heaven doesn't operate according to our job descriptions. Heaven will move man's limitations out the way and make space for your assignment.

There is so much more to who you are in Christ. So, don't deny yourself the opportunity to flow in the Spirit beyond what's expected. In the words of an old school deacon from back-in-the-day...

Let the Lord use ya!

There is more to your story. Like the writings of Luke, God wants you to operate in the fullness of all that is in within you. Heaven has space for you, just don't be surprised if you can't find it on your GPS.

Just let God flow.
