Grace Has Your Back
GRACE: THE RULEBREAKER
The concept of giving has become so diluted. And, oh yeah, Merry Christmas.
I know. I sound like Scrooge 2.0.
I'm excited about my Jesus's coming, just not so much about the whitewashing of his arrival in the earth.
Grace Broke all the Rules
"For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." ~John 1:17, New International Version
Do you know what this means?
The birth of our Lord, our Savior, our Jesus the Christ is the pivot of eternity!
No longer are humanity's eternal consequences left to the legalism of the law, but they covered by God's unyielding, unending, loving kindness through the gift of His beloved son.
We call it grace.
It's the favor we didn't earn with a magnitude we cannot fathom. It's grace for things we see. Grace for things we don't see. Grace in the earth and in the heavenly realms. It opens doors and closes doors. Jesus, the Grace-Giver, fellowships with us in our suffering and is the center of our joy. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
A peace that surpasses all human understanding is only made possible by the Prince of Peace. (Lord, give us peace!)
The law shouts we are unworthy of Christ.
Grace whispers we are worthy because of Christ.
That's what I want to focus on this Christmas.
Grace. The grace that broke all the rules.
Oh. Lord,
Where would we be without the grace of your Son? His arrival pivoted our great pain to divine purpose. His birth was/is our new beginning. His humble beginnings was/is our elevation. Please, God, don't let us take grace for granted. We honor your son, our Savior. We welcome him into the earth and into our lives. We will remember the debt we owed paid in full by his blood. We will not forsake the "Christ" in Christmas.
What I Want for Christmas
Before grace, you and I were a loss. With grace, we abound.
So, what do I want for Christmas?
A tear-soaked keyboard as I write about His goodness.
A grateful heart when I think of what Jesus did for me.
A fearless faith knowing His grace has my back.
A sacred space with the one who broke all the rules.
I don't want to lose my Savior to the holiday season.
Jesus, all I want for Christmas is you.
~
Family, remember to walk in grace and truth today!
