What Do You Want?

Life is built on the choices we make.
God the Creator gave us life. Jesus the Son came that we might have an abundant life. But our lives are built by the choices we make based upon what we want. So, the most important question I could ask you in this conversation is,
What do you really want?
Everything the world tells us we need is expendable.
Everything Heaven has for us is eternal.
I'll ask one more time... what do you really want?
In other words what is your heart - your authentic self - seeking?
And let's not be so rudimentary in this thought process that we limit our framework to romance. It's bigger than that. Everything we do flows from the heart.
Everything.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. ~Proverbs 4:23 NIV
Unpacking what matters most to your authentic self is the first step towards finally living in the fullness of life you've been looking for.
I've thought a lot lately about what I want out of life. Finally, it hit me...
It's what I want in my life that matters.
I want God foremost in my life.
I want in my life what He wants for me.
And if what is currently in my life does not align with what He wants for me, it's got to go.
Sounds good, doesn't it?
Nice and "church-ey".
I can talk this talk all day long but if what I do is not in sync with what I said, is it what my heart wants?
Remember... everything we do flows from the heart which is why seeking God has to be first in our hearts.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ~Matthew 6:33 NIV
The Holy Spirit's presence filters
our responses,
our loves,
our likes,
our tendencies,
our tastes,
our proclivities.
And I need a filter!
It keeps us safe.
Loves us without end.
Is the center of our joy.
Let's us rest in perfect peace.
Those the things I want, the things I need in my life.
How about you?
Everything (and everybody) else after Jesus is just gravy.
Life is built on the choices we make.
If a continual,
intertwined
life experience
with the Savior can finally give you what you want,
why not try Him first?
