Say "Yes" to the One Who Never Said "No"

But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea. ~Luke 4:43-44 New International Version

How Jesus loved the Father and in turn loved us has no description.

It was a love beyond the pages of our emotional dictionary, and it wouldn't let him say "no".

Jesus was a "yes" man.

The Fierce Urgency of "NOW"

When it came to pleasing the Father, the answer was always "yes". It wasn't an option if the scriptures were to be fulfilled, if our sins were to be washed as white as snow, if we were to find our place in Forever.

Exactly one year before his death, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave a speech which encompassed a fervent appeal for the American people and government to take immediate action against the war on Vietnam.

We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now.

~Dr. King

Perhaps the drive and determination emanating from his speech was modeled after the urgency with which Jesus went about his Fathers business. The Son of Man never said "no" to the fulfillment of the promise, only "now".

Now, in the flesh, there was an assignment to complete. Temptations would not deter him. Now, in the flesh, there is a prophecy to fulfill, and the hypocrites from his hometown would not distract him:

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,... (Luke 4:18 NIV)

The Son of Man kept going. God in Flesh continued to press and always said "yes".

I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea. ~Luke 4:43-44 NIV

Jesus felt the urgency. He knew he must say "yes".

Is there something God is asking you today to do without question but only to please Him? What is your "yes"? What must you do? And why is God sending you?

It's time to sharpen our spiritual focus. Be about our Father's business. Pray to have the mind and the clarity of Christ. Ask God for the faith to receive, accept, and embrace the GOD n' You. Don't be deterred by temptation or distract by hypocrisy.

Our "yes" is safe with God. Let's go to work.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25 NIV)
